LOLZ ........ ARAVIND ADIGA says :
"It's time for kannadigas to stand up....... he feels sad tht so many ppl talk to him in Hindi and not in
Kannada....... he feels ppl of karnataka are forgetting about its culture and excepts everyone migrating to
karnataka to learn kannada and help promote it ......."
All this coming from a person, whose family migrated to Australia in hopes of better future for the family, who has
a booker prize for a novel written in English (not kannada) , he writes in English (again not kannada) dailies, he
stays in Mumbai( wht better place than the economic capital where fame is just a few steps away) and not in
Karnataka.
In his Journalistic career, he did interview Donald Trump, but I never heard @ him interviewing any of Karnataka's
great ppl (I am sure there are many here who did a lot for the country as well as the state).
I really feel disgusted whn these ppl enjoy the luxuries of a high society but the want the common man to be always
attached to the roots, never come up in life. I am sure this man would never allow his kids to go a regional medium
school. He himself went to the best convents and best schools abroad.
I would like to ask him how much has he contributed to the spread of Kannada when he was in Australia or when he
was in the USA. He wants the working class here who have migrated in search of jobs to take time out and learn a
new language. Learning is never a harm , but shoving it down everyones throat ??? Now, that's our beloved
democracy. isn't it ? ??
We have atleast one such IDIOT from everywhere in our country......... who can only think small, can think of only segregations and not unifying.
All this has been written by him in a Times of India Edition for 18th October 2010, he starts off taling @ the political situation in Karnataka, then goes on to talk @ the financial inflow in the state, then the language problem , corruption and keeps hitting off tangent with every single paragraph of his article. In the end, I assume he himself wasn't sure of what he was writting about. I am surprised that such a known daily newspaper of our country allowed such an article to be published.
Was it because he is a Booker Prize winner and it would insult his intelligence if the article would have been edited or sreened a couple of times?
With great power comes greater responsibility, seems we haven't yet understood the exact meaning of this phrase..............
"Barbaad Gulistaan karne ko ek hi ullo khaafi tha,
Yahaan Har shaak par ek ullo baitha hain,
Kyaa Hoga haal - e Hindustan ? "
